Design brief:
Kirsty Lang, Graven Images:
“Glamourous and theatrical, but also accessible and fun. Achieve a complex mix of materials with some of the most fabulous wall coverings and finishes on the market. Spent 18 months researching ideas from around the world, resulting in a rich palette of over 40 fabrics. “Great attention to detail—before crockery was selected each restaurant dish was photographed on alternative designs to ensure they complimented one another. Design offers ‘stage sets’, where people can explore new areas/scenarios set in fabulous colours, bold patterns and bespoke furniture. Environment is welcoming and full of humour, while the flirtatious, fun touches do not undermine the style and elegance.”

Most pleased with: Blend of Georgian opulence with contemporary style.
Biggest luxury: Cloud light by Artemide of Italy (about £20,000), in the bar entrance, the only one in the UK and the largest in the world.
Best bargain: None. Where design could not agree on a fabric or finish they chose both.
Most unusual innovation: Black toilet paper in the black room suite.
